Adventure Play is what most people think of when they hear natural playscape. It’s our most “playgroundy” work.

An adventure playscape provides everything a child needs to practice balance, test her limits and build a stronger sense of self. We use cedar, locust and cypress logs and timbers to create climbable structures. These woods are naturally rot and insect resistant. Because they are either set in concrete or elevated off the ground, they will last as long or longer than a “traditional” plastic playground structure. Plus, they’re made of renewable resources.

We use local stone, clay and soil to create landscapes that are fun and challenging to move through. Tunnels, slides, rock scrambles and water play provide dynamic and diverse opportunities for exploration. Our adventure playscapes create creeks, hills and hollows that connect our children to the land and keep them coming back to play.

Each adventure playscape is designed to suit your needs and harmonize with your place and its culture. Whether your passion is farming, STEM, music or space, any thematic element can be integrated into a natural playscape.

We recommend including native landscaping in your playscape design. Native landscaping both requires less maintenance and adds more dynamic play elements.
